Serving with Compassion
At St. Pauls Mar Thoma Syrian Church, Vashi, the Food for the Hungry outreach initiative reflects our calling to respond to human need with love, dignity and practical support. A nutritious meal is more than food: it can offer comfort, encouragement and a reminder that no one should feel forgotten.
The parish's outreach has included a community kitchen supported by contributions from members and well-wishers, with prepared food packets shared among vulnerable people and care institutions in and around Navi Mumbai.

Our Outreach Heritage
Earlier parish records describe food distribution to people in need on the streets of Navi Mumbai and support for residents of care facilities, including Jyothis at Kalamboli, Santhwanam at Nerul, Navjeevan at Nerul and a cancer shelter in Vashi. These are examples from the programme's history; current beneficiaries and distribution arrangements may differ.
Through initiatives such as this, the parish seeks to express Christian faith not only in worship and prayer, but also through tangible acts of mercy and solidarity.
